Chinook Systems, Inc. and PMC Group’s Mike Chipley to Co-Present on Control Systems Hacking Counter Measures and Next Steps at CxEnergy 2017

Arlington, Virginia, April 11, 2017 – Chinook Systems, Inc. (Chinook), an inter-disciplinary facilities engineering firm and commissioning services provider for mission critical facilities, including NASA, will team with PMC Group, LLC, a project management and technical consulting services company, to present “Your Control Systems Have Been Hacked, Now What?” at the CxEnergy 2017 Conference & Expo, the premier event in building commissioning and energy management. CxEnergy 2017 will take place at the Omni Orlando Resort in Champions Gate, FL from April 24 – 27, 2017.

The presentation will cover design, deployment and operational protocols that can be used to detect, contain, eradicate and recover from security and network breaches that target control systems. Attendees will walk away knowing how and when to utilize several key resources, as well as learn how to identify at-risk targets within a control system.

“Too often, organizations fail to take the appropriate measures to identify and protect their environment from a security breach,” said Chinook President Wanda Lenkewich. “We will provide those in attendance with specific tools and techniques used by U.S. Cyber Command to identify and recover from an attack.”

We uses the latest innovative technology platforms and services to tailor and emulate mission-representative operational cyberspace to measure the impact of the attack vectors threatening the resiliency of these systems and educating the evolving cyber workforce with real-time detection, rapid response and mitigation and recovery techniques.

With over 35 years of experience in a wide range of consulting roles for government agencies and contractors, Dr. Chipley is one of the preeminent experts on cybersecurity of operational technologies, facility risk-mitigation and anti-terrorism strategies. He has been instrumental in the development of the Risk Management Framework for Control Systems, authored/co-authored numerous publications related to cyber and physical security, teaches several cybersecurity workshops, and continues to provide subject matter expertise to government and private sector clients with regards to IT and OT convergence and the evolution of the Internet of Things (IoT).

“We are excited to work with CxEnergy attendees to share our breadth and depth of knowledge in control systems hacking—an issue that often paralyzes facilities, costing organizations money and time to eradicate,” said Chinook. “We are proud of the end-to-end lifecycle solutions for energy and cyber that we have developed at Chinook and know that the future depends on us knowing how to mitigate the risks.”
