The U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), a subordinate command of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Material Command, located at Fort Detrick, MD is the Department of Defense’s (DoD) lead biodefense. This new facility is approximately 950,000sf which includes HQ, Admin and Research offices, Laboratories, Veterinary Medicine offices, Medicine clinic, amenities, and building operations offices. Construction began in fall 2009 and will be completed in March 2013. The project designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.
